This election is about the heart and soul of our City, about our children’s future, and about our own conscience. We cannot continue short selling Beverly Hills and lurching from one purported budget crisis to the next.

I have a new vision for our City that starts by tackling the toughest issues facing our community. Here is what I plan to do if elected:

• I will fight to protect and enhance the unique character of our community. I am passionately committed to doing so. There is only one Beverly Hills.

• I will ensure that we maintain world class police and fire protection without resorting to overdevelopment and higher taxes.

• From my first day in office, I will aggressively pursue new big picture solutions to end the lethal traffic gridlock that is choking the life out of our City.

• You can count on my unequivocal support for full funding of Beverly Hills’ schools. I have been endorsed by the Teacher's Union because I am passionately committed to working with parents and the School Board to provide our kids with the finest education available anywhere.

• I will fight for intelligent investments in our shared future through bold strategies such as land banking, preservation of the industrial area, establishment of a rainy day fund and cost-effective parks enhancement, perhaps including our own dog park, to enhance livability, not just short term profits.

• Last, and perhaps most importantly, you have my pledge that I will fight relentlessly for the empowerment of residents by demanding across the board transparency and ending the undue influence of lobbyists and special interests at City Hall. My only special interest is you.

Thank you for visiting my website. I ask for your vote March 3 - or earlier by absentee ballot.

Sincerely,
John Mirisch
